Funniest movie of 2009 – The Hangover

Coming up with the winner of the title of funniest movies of 2009 was far easier than such a comparison has been in previous years. That is not to say there was a shortage of funny movies in years. Films like <i> Zombie Country, I love you, man </ i> and <i> Bruno </ i> had more than their fair share of laughs. Could any of those comedy films hold a candle to <i> Hangover </ i> when it came to deliver humor.

Starring Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha <i> Hangover </ i> is a classic buddy-movie about three friends (two good friends, and a soon-to-be brother in law) who take their pal Doug to Las Vegas for the last bachelor blowout before he gets married. But the fun gets a little out of control and trio passes out and when they wake up they have no recollection of what happened the night before. To make matters worse, the groom-to-be missing, and they have no idea what happened to him.

From that point forward, the three try to trace the events of the previous night to try and figure where and when they have lost their mate. Of course I will not go into details because I do not want to spoil anything for anyone who has not seen the film, it is sufficient but I say trio has plenty of misadventures along the way, and unlike most comedy films, starting out strong, only fade in the middle, this film provides laughs coming right until the end credits role.

As you can see the general plot of the movie, Justin Bartha, who plays the groom, actually has very little screen time. Bradley Cooper from <i> Wedding Crashers </ i> and Ed Helms of NBS's <i> Office </ i> is both hilarious as almost polar opposites, which ongoing clashes in the hunt for their missing friend. But it is Zach Galifianakis, who plays Doug's future brother in law who really steals the show. Beyond stupid, Galifianakis character of Alan is a constant nuisance to his fellow groomsmen entire movie, constantly making bad decisions and ask the ridiculous (but very entertaining) questions whole time.

If you're in the mood to laugh-out-high comedy, and you have not seen <i> Hangover </ i> then you definitely need to check it like when it comes out on DVD and Blu-ray on December 15th. And make sure you do not turn off the player before the end credits role. There is some bonus footage that is as fun as the rest of the film.

Zach Galifianakis’ stand-up comedy DVD spoofs the classic recorded stand-up performance film format by interjecting road trip footage of Zach and buddy in their red VW bus, and fake interviews with Zach’s fake brother, “Seth,” between his live stage bits. The splintered, slackerish feel that this editing lends the film reinforces Galifianakis’s cool, enigmatic stage presence. Galifianakis’ self-de…

G-Force just might be the best Jerry Bruckheimer action film in many a moon. The film is exuberant, and its premise–don’t think big for an animated caper film, think small–brilliantly upends the more-bigger-faster trope of American action films… with cute, little, furry guinea pigs.Bruckheimer, the action genius behind the likes of the Pirates of the Caribbean, Con Air, The Rock, Armageddon, a…
