You might want to become a patron of the Mahaffrey theater in St. Pete or the Palladium and get invited to events. The Museum of Fine Art also hosts events for its members. The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in Tampa has broadway plays plus smaller productions of other plays. Ybor City is the club scene, there are some nice local bars in St. Pete, but I don’t know what part of St. Pete you are moving to. The area downtown near USF St. Pete is a nice yuppie area with cafes, little shops, etc. You can also go down to Sarasota for events at the Ringling Museum.
