Russell Peters Tickets – Russell Peters Brings Laughs and Breaks Boundaries
Comedy isn’t usually a field dominated by the status quo or the politically correct. Canadian comedian Russell Peters decided to challenge both and found a large and diverse audience for his brand of humor. He is easily the most well-known comic of Indian descent, and his stand-up routines usually tackle issues that have to do with race, stereotypes and family. He has had no problem selling out Russell Peters tickets at his many dates around the world, and fans can find them at StubHub.com.
Russell Peters may be Canadian and have Indian heritage, but he seems to have a universal appeal. He has booked many popular dates around North America for his The Green Card Tour, like in Boston, Washington D.C., Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlantic City and San Diego. It isn’t just his native North America that will be clamoring to see him live. Peters also announced that he has booked a second date at London’s O2 Arena on September. He already had a date on Thur., Sept. 23 and added another show on Fri., Sept. 24 as well. Peters has a rich history at the O2, as he set a comedy attendance record at his pervious performance there.
He proved his star status by landing on the 2009 Forbes list of The 10 Top Earning Comedians. He tied with Terry Fator at number nine with $10 million in earnings. His entry on that list had him ranked with other comic legends like Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy, George Lopez, Chris Rock and more. His name is much more well-known in his home country of Canada and Britain, but his current tour in the U.S. could extend his reign to the States as well.
In an interview with the Boston Herald, Peters explained his type of humor by citing his influences. He said, “You’ll see all of them in the show. There’s some of the silliness of Cheech and Chong, some of the absurdity of Steve Martin, the storytelling of Bob Newhart, with those silent pauses, and Eddie Murphy, with the family storytelling.” He also explained that his biggest influence is late comic George Carlin.
Russell Peters also defended his method of insulting a variety of races as well as both sexes in his routine. He insists it is all in good fun and that the audience recognizes his motives. He said, “I just like talking to people and letting people know I know about them. You close the gap and bring them a little bit closer. People who don’t get it think I’m mocking. People who get it see I’m pointing out similarities and including them.” His following is proof positive that most people, in fact, do “get it.”
Over his years in the music scene, Russell Peters has earned many different recognitions by the comedy world. He has earned multiple Gemini Award (Canadian Emmys) nominations and been featured in multiple comedy specials. He has also released DVDs called Rseel Peters: Outsourced and Russell Peters: Red, White, and Brown, and performed for the troops on tour USO tours.

Russell Peters: ‘Canada breeds comedy’
For most comics, filling three-fourths of the Ha Ha Room in Nowheresville, Large-Square-State, is an accomplishment worth celebrating … alone, of course, in a guest room at the Holiday Inn with a bottle of gin.
